Frogs and Toads with gold eyes

A collection of bullfrogs, toads and tree frogs that I stumbled on in the yard and shooed off of the road out here when it rains. Did you ever look at their eyes? They’re gold…metallic gold. Come to think of it…why do goats have slitted pupils like a cat? I need to do some reading about all of that.

The Magnificent Pigtail Shadow is fully funded now

The Kickstarter project is fully funded as of today, with about 2 days to go until it officially closes!!!  I’ll send more updates and images once the camera and field recorder arrive.  In the meantime, continuing to tighten up the script…  tentatively scheduled to begin recording the narration in August.

Thanks for the support!!!!

Bee Wing and possible Frog Egg Evolution

I found this bee on its side. Looks like it died flying and landed on my porch in full rigor mortis. You hear about ‘hive collapse”? Some say it’s a farce but 2 years ago I saw maybe 2 honeybees all summer long and I spend a lot of time outdoors. They think that the UV rays are killing frog eggs too…maybe they’ll evolve thick shells in a couple million years if they’re lucky and they survive all of this. Those clear gelatinous balls just aren’t doing the job keeping the sunbeams out.

The Best Tea Cup…Ever.

I found this plastic tea cup half buried in the dirt in Arizona. I couldn’t guess who was tea toddling on a massive mesa hours from civilization. Probably be stranger to the original owner that I brought it home to NY decades later on a jet to drink from it almost everyday.

The latest Signal to Noise

Reposted this from Wow Cool’s site.

The newest issue of the excellent Signal to Noise Magazine (#58 – The journal of Improvised & Experimental Sound) features a great spread of several of Steven Cerio’s concert posters and a good sized interview with the man talking about his history, art and music. Interesting discussion of his method and changing style and an anecdote about meeting William Parker. Subscribers will already have their copies (at least I do) and it should be available in stores and online soon.
